According to the definition given and announced by the World Health Organization WHO in its meeting of 19-22 June 1946 and signed by the representatives of 61 countries in the world, 'health is a state of being well physically, mentally and socially and not just not having sickness or weakness.' The definition came into use in April 1948 and until today the meaning of health has not changed.
The definition means that, when we say that a person is healthy, we not only mean that his body does not have diseases, deficiencies or weaknesses, but also that the person should not have physical, mental and even social problems. According to the broad interpretation of the word 'health' we see that many people believe that health is divided into two important groups which are physical health and mental health. Physical health for humans means having a healthy body without diseases, health that usually results from giving the body regular exercise, good nutrition and enough rest. In countries or regions where people have access to good nutrition, good health services and living in a standard of living, their height and weight usually increase. The truth is, if you ask most people what health is, they will say that it is related to the body being safe without being affected by disease. But if we go deeper, physical health refers to the well-being of the body that a person achieves by performing all the elements
related to health in his life. The health of the body reflects the functioning of the heart and respiratory system, the ability of the muscles, organs and the body to accept different changes and the structure of the body in general. Other issues include good nutrition, body weight, absence of drug addiction, alcohol, safe sexual relations, general hygiene and also sleeping and waking up at the required time.
Mental health or mental health is the recognition of a person and his psychological health. A person who is in good mental health does not have mental problems or insanity. According to the World Health Organization WHO, 'mental health is when a person can understand his abilities and cope with stress caused by stress or normal life problems. He should be able to do successful work and contribute to different issues in his community.'
It is easier for people to explain the meaning of mental illness than mental health. Many people agree that mental health is the absence of mental illness, but that is not enough. This is because if we choose 100 people who do not have madness or a mental illness that can be diagnosed by a psychiatrist, but among them we can see that the mental health of some of them is better than others. We can say that, mental health includes several issues such as ability of living happily, the ability to endure problems and return to normal after experiencing difficulties, the ability to have balance in life, the ability to change easily and adapt to new environments, feeling safe and self-aware.
